Jyoti Nivas College started it's offline classes on 4th January 2021. Students were expected to attend offline classes and all of them to follow all the COVID-19 protocols, having a negative report, daily temperature check, consent form were mandatory.
In conversation with Ms. Caroline Gauri Bosco, Assistant Professor of the department of Psychology said, "In terms of finishing portions online classes are much better, but in terms of efficiency offline classes are better". In the current situation, she would prefer online classes however, she was of the opinion that human interaction is necessary after the dreadful lockdown.
"Online classes are more comfortable and had no risks," said Anupriya Kujur (2nd B.Com 'B'). Coming to college is fun but following the COVID protocols and being responsible for the same is difficult. Sowparnika Padmanabhan (1st PECOS) was also among those who travel long distances to attend physical classes. She stated, "Online events were better because a lot of people who are stuck in different parts of the country can also attend and be part of fun college festivities".
The college had put up a COVID Test Centre in the college's Amphitheatre, to encourage all the students to test free of cost . This ensured that the students and staff are safe and healthy. The students have to carry sanitizers, wear masks and maintain social distance even during classes. The college staff and all the students thoroughly enjoyed all the events that were perfectly executed by the management and the entire JNC family.
