LIMERICK

Limerick: The Introduction I am a crazy foodie from Bangalore, street and junk food I eat in galore. Koramangala and Indiranagar are the places I count on, Khawa, momos and pani puri turn my belting mode on. My tummy says stop but my heart craves for more. Shobika D Mahindra is my name, not to be mistaken by the real Mahindra with a lot of fame. Cars and money he has in plenty, while my pocket is mostly empty. To carve a unique niche for myself is my aim. Limerick: On Online classes PC: JESHOOTS.COM April and May 2021 were hit by the second wave. Instead of enjoying summer, we attended online classes and can't misbehave. The teachers ask questions and wait like Dora, while the students imagine vacationing in Bora Bora. But stay at home and be safe, till we put Corona in it's grave.

MOVIE ANALYSIS BASED ON LAURA MULVEY'S ESSAY (1975)

PC: Male Gaze Theory by Laura Mulvey Laura Mulvey is a feminist film theorist from Britain, best known for her essay on Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema (1975) . Her theories are influenced by the theories of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan ; by using their ideologies as “political weapons” whilst also including psychoanalysis and feminism in her works. Mulvey is mainly known for her theory regarding sexual objectification on women in the media, more commonly known as The Male Gaze” theory. Her essay has thrown light to the misogyny, patriarchal ideas and the gender identity issues as seen in the media. She speaks about how movies portray women to be ‘visual pleasures’ for men (the target audience is predominantly heterosexual men) therefore, their needs are required to be met and this stems from a male- driven society. Susan Sontag- Review on On Photography

Image source: Time To believe something is true, what is the best way to portray it than by using visuals. Photographs is one of the best medium of doing so. On Photography was published in 1977 as a collection of essays by Susan Sontag. It originally appeared as a series of essays in the New York Review of Books between 1973 and 1977. In the book, Sontag discusses her opinions on the development of photography and its current function in capitalist society as of the 1970s. She starts the essay by saying, ‘T o collect photographs is to collect the world. ’ Ever since the beginning of time, reality has been communicated through images, and philosophers like Plato have worked to reduce this dependency by emphasizing more direct methods of understanding reality. She believes that photographs are the experiences that are captured by the camera which is the ideal arm of consciousness in its acquisitive mood.
